Our Intermediate DJ Course is your next step to creative mixing. Learn in our studios in Camden Town, London or online. In this course, you'll go beyond the basics and explore the creative features of a club DJ setup. Learn to prep like a pro, troubleshoot, and develop your own style. Explore all the advanced features of your decks and mixer, including hot cues, vinyl mode, looping and Beat FX. Add excitement to your mix with advanced techniques including cutting, acapella mixing and combo tricks.
Whether you're into house, hip-hop, or anything in between, you'll learn to mix your favourite music to a professional level.

Complete Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels to gain your LSA Pro DJ Course certificate and get DJ bookings with LSA. We guarantee DJ gigs for every graduate and we work with some incredible venues including Ministry of Sound, Egg London and many more. Don't forget, you can also DJ at our monthly studio party!
If you're stating at the Intermediate level, you'll still need to complete a minimum of three courses with LSA to graduate with DJ gigs. We recommend the Intermediate, Advanced and Elite DJ Courses.

Are DJ lessons in-person or online?
We offer you the option to learn in-person at our studios or book online lessons. In-person lessons are taught at our studios in Camden Town, London. Online lessons are still 1-1 and facilitated via Zoom. If you'd like to book online lessons please contact us.
Do I need any experience or equipment to start?
No. You don't need any experience or equipment to get started. We welcome beginners with zero experience. Talk to us if you're interested in buying some DJ equipment so you can get your special LSA discount.
What music styles do you teach?
You can learn to DJ with the styles of music you love. We teach all genres and have a large library of music at the academy. You can also bring music to your lesson on a USB stick in MP3, WAV or AIFF formats. If you're not sure where to get music from, wait for your first lesson. We'll show you how to find the music you love.
How many lessons are in the course?
There are four lessons of two hours in the Beginner DJ Course. It's the same again for the Intermediate and Advanced levels. There are six lessons of two hours in the Elite DJ Course.
How do I book my lessons?
Once you buy a course, you will receive an email from us with a link to schedule your lessons. You can choose the day, time and tutor. The schedule is up to you; most students take one or two lessons a week, but feel free to choose when you want to come. Some students who travel quite far to reach us will block-book the lessons to form a crash course. If you'd like to condense your lessons into a shorter time period, like a crash course please contact us to arrange your schedule.
How do I know which DJ tutor to book?
All our DJ tutors are experts and teach all genres of music. Book with any tutor who is available when you want to take your lessons. All DJ tutors teach from the same curriculum, so you book with multiple tutors and get to meet more of the team.
Can I see the available times before buying a course?
We offer lessons seven days a week at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. We have multiple rooms and tutors on site giving you lots of flexibility to choose your own lesson schedule. For last minute bookings please contact us because we can often open up more availlablity for you. You can also check the available lesson times before buying a course by clicking here.
I already have some experience. Which level should I start with?
If you are self-taught using a DJ controller such as the FLX4, or similar, start with our Beginner DJ Course. Your tutor will begin by checking your skills and ticking off anything you are already confident with. They won't waste time going over stuff you already know. If you're already quite experienced with industry-standard CDJs, you can start with the Intermediate DJ Course. No matter which level you book, your tutor will start by double-checking that your skills match our curriculum. We will always tailor the lessons to suit your ability level.
How do I get DJ gigs with LSA?
To get DJ gigs with LSA complete the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced DJ Courses. This will complete the required three-levels to gain your LSA Pro DJ Certification and join our alumni group. In the group, you can apply for DJ gigs at famous clubs including Ministry of Sound and Egg London, among many other DJ opportunities. If you already have some experience and want to access our gigs make sure you complete three levels, such as Intermediate, Advanced and Elite courses to get guranteed DJ gigs with LSA.
Can I book the lessons with a family member or friend?
Yes. Please contact us to arrange lessons for two or more people.

Do you accept international students?
Anyone can book a course at LSA. Students who are in the UK with a standard visitor visa can take any of our courses. Contact us to arrange your lesson schedule if you want to complete all the courses during a short stay.
What DJ software do you use?
Our curriculum is designed around the industry-standard Rekordbox DJ software, which is a free to download. We also teach using Serato or Traktor. If you’d like to learn with Serato or Traktor, please contact us before booking, as only certain tutors teach with this software.
Will I receive any course materials?
Yes. When you arrive at the studio, we'll ask you to enrol on the iPads. You'll then receive a welcome email with your course notes attached.
What ages do you teach?
We teach all ages 6 and up in our DJ courses and 8 and up in our production courses. We welcome all ages at LSA and even have students in their 70s.
What DJ equipment will I learn on?
Our DJ courses are taught using industry-standard DJ equipment including Pioneer DJ (AlphaTheta) CDJs and mixers. We teach in multiple spaces, giving you the possibility of being shown a range of models, from the newest to legacy decks, preparing you for the real world of DJing. Our DJ studios also have Technics turntables and alternative mixers such as the Allen & Heath Xone range. If you want to learn using all the best gear including the CDJ3000x, CDJ3000s, DJM-A9 and DJM-V10 book with LSA.
Will I receive a certificate for this course?
At the end of each level, you'll receive a report from your tutor. Once you complete the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced courses you'll also receive your LSA Pro DJ certificate.
Do I need to practice between DJ lessons?
Yes. You should book some studio time to practice between DJ lessons. Click here for our studio hire option.
Are the lessons fun?
Yes! The lessons are hands-on, and our tutors are very friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere designed to ignite a new passion.
Where is the studio located?
The address is 93a Bayham Street, London, NW1 0AG. It's easy to get to on public transport or by car. The nearest tube station is Camden Town but we are also very close to Camden Road. The closest car park is Lomax on Pratt Street. There are also several buses nearby.
